WHO WE ARE:
ASIS INTERNATIONAL (founded in 1955 as the American Society for Industrial Security) is the preeminent organization for security professionals around the world. , A-S-I-S is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security professionals by developing educational programs and materials that address broad security interests and enhance security knowledge, practice, and performance.  ASIS is a not-for-profit organization that has grown to more than 37,000 members around the world.

OUR CHAPTER:

We are Southwestern Michigan Chapter #163.  Our local membership consists of security executives, practitioners and purveyors from a wide range of Industries and Organizations across our region.   The companies represented by members in our area include Fortune 500 Companies and many globally recognized brands, including Whirlpool, Pfizer, Kelloggs, Stryker, as well as Steelcase, Siemens, GE, Bronson and Borgess hospitals, and many others. These companies and our other represented companies and institutions combined employ more than 24,000 people directly in Southwestern Michigan.

Fires, theft, flooding, and intrusion detection: We estimate that of all the residential and commercial security systems in our region, 80%-or more were installed and/or are monitored or directly managed by our member companies. The good work we do each day means that if and when bad things happen in our area, chances are very good that the incident will not be first noticed by Police or Fire authorities, but will instead be caught on a camera or discovered and reported by personnel supplied or maintained by a company or organization with an ASIS member at or near the top. Our members are dedicated to active and preventative management, planning and response to ensure safety, security, and operational resiliency to our organizations, our stakeholders, and our communities.
